Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I try out the TreadClimber in my area?

TreadClimber® cardio machines are not available through retail stores. We do have several resources that will hopefully answer any questions you may have:

  • An introductory video showing the machine in use and inspiring success stories
    Loading the player ...
  • A free, informative kit
  • An active Facebook community of TreadClimber® owners and shoppers

Of course you can always contact us if you have any questions. Also, keep in mind that if you're not 100% satisfied with your purchase, you may contact our Customer Care department at 1.800.216.9028 within six weeks of delivery for a full refund of your purchase price (excluding return shipping and handling). See return policy.

Is the TreadClimber appropriate for someone with my medical condition?

The TreadClimber is a very popular machine, largely because it is designed to be very low impact. However, your experience is unique, so we cannot determine whether or not the machine would be right for you. We highly recommend that you consult with your doctor about your particular exercise needs.

How easy is it to assemble? Is there a service that can do it for me?

The TreadClimber® machine comes mostly preassembled, but still requires some final assembly on your part. We provide detailed instruction manuals with every machine. The process usually takes 1 to 2 hours and does require two people because of some heavy lifting. In addition to the detailed assembly manuals we also provide supplemental assembly videos.

If I finance my purchase, what are the monthly payments?

We have a couple financing partners and the easiest way to get a quote is to give us a call at 1.800.216.9028.

Where do I direct questions about my Desjardins Accord D Visa card?

Please call Desjardins at 1.800.363.3380.

Will I have to pay additional fees for customs or taxes?

In some instances, Nautilus may need to ship your product from a facility in the United States. If this is the case, then you may be required to pay customs fees or taxes before the product can be delivered. Nautilus is not liable for any cost or delays associated with these charges; they are the sole responsibility of the recipient. Should you have questions about customs fees or taxes, please contact your local customs office for additional information.

What are the dimensions of the TreadClimber?

Please see the “Specs” tab on the product page of the model you’re interested in (TC20, TC10, TC5).

Is there a minimum ceiling height?

TC20 and TC5 models: At their highest point, the treadles are 17 inches from the floor (43 cm). Add that to your height, plus a couple inches for comfortable clearance, to calculate your minimum ceiling height.

TC10 model: At their highest point, the treadles are 14 inches from the floor (35 cm). Add that to your height, plus a couple inches for comfortable clearance, to calculate your minimum ceiling height.

What is the maximum user weight?

All TreadClimber models are tested to ensure safe operation for users up to 300 lbs. The warranty does not cover use of the machine by users greater than 300 lbs.

How quiet is the TreadClimber?

The TreadClimber itself is a relatively quiet machine. Most of the noise is generated by the walking motion of the user. In practical terms, you should still be able to carry on a conversation in the room, listen to music, hear your phone ring, etc.

What kind of floor can I place the TreadClimber on?

The machine should be placed on clean, hard, level surface. Carpeted flooring is fine. Regardless of the type of flooring, we strongly recommend using one of our machine mats to protect your floor.

Do the treadles go up and down on their own?

No, the up-and-down climbing motion is dictated by the user's stride and pace.

TC5 model: How do the belts move without a motor?

The movement of the belts is generated by the user's own power and momentum.

Does the TreadClimber fold up for storage?

While it does not fold up, the footprint of the TreadClimber is not much larger than a folded up treadmill. Built-in transport wheels also make it easier to move your TreadClimber around.

Can you run on the TreadClimber?

No, the TreadClimber is not designed for running. It is designed to provide an extremely effective workout while walking.

Can the treadles be locked together so you can use the TreadClimber like a treadmill?

No, the treadles do not lock together because that would limit the effectiveness of the workout.

Where is the serial number on my TreadClimber?

To locate the serial number on your TreadClimber, look underneath the left treadle. You will see it on the crossbar piece, next to the left upright. The serial number will be on a sticker and it will consist of a long series of numbers with several letters in the middle.
